How two Laboratoryprograms adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic

On July 8, Laboratory(麻豆传媒社区) Associate Professor Mikala Egeblad and LaboratoryDNA Learning Center Executive Director David Micklos presented an overview of their research to over 400 digital participants as part of the 鈥淟ife Science Across the Globe鈥 seminar series. Laboratoryis one of six sister institutions giving both a science talk and a science culture talk via this seminar series. The goal is to increase knowledge and advance solutions to global problems through open communication of science.

LaboratoryPresident and CEO Bruce Stillman welcomed the digital lecture attendees, and Professor Leemor Joshua-Tor, who is the Laboratorycoordinator for this series, introduced both speakers. Egeblad gave a talk on her research on neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) and the role they play in lung cancer and COVID-19. Micklos discussed how DNA Learning Center programs developed for hands-on classroom learning were adapted to support students and teachers in virtual classrooms and in their home kitchens.
